I read this message from Greenpeace USA and i think its so important to spread it:
"Hello Everyone,
Our oceans are in trouble: 90% of the large fish that many people love to eat, such as tuna, swordfish, marlin, cod, halibut, skate, and flounder - have been fished out since large scale industrial fishing began in the 1950s. A recent international study concluded there may be no fish left in the oceans by 2048. Yikes!
But fish stocks can recover if they’re given a chance. It’s important that we act now to set up a system of marine reserves that will effectively protect our oceans for the future. You can help make this happen.
The US government has initiated a consultation process asking the American people about how it should go about creating a national network of protected areas in US waters.
Act Now!
Please take a minute to click off a message to NOAA letting them know the oceans are important to us!
Thanks!
